The Office of First-Year Experience provides a variety of events, experiences, opportunities and support to assist new students with their adjustment to Butler Community College.
The mission of the First-Year Experience Office at Butler Community College is to provide experiences that support first-year students from our region with their transition to college through a comprehensive orientation, providing opportunities for engagement across campus, and actively supporting students to help them achieve academic and personal success.

At Butler, we are committed to your success! The First-Year Experience Office (FYE) strives to support new students with their transition through coordinating, enhancing, and supporting a broad array of programs, services, experiences, and educationally purposeful activities. Our efforts begin with a comprehensive orientation during the first week of classes, and continues through identifying and supporting students in need, creating opportunities for new students to meet and interact with other students, and also providing positive interactions and experiences with instructors and staff beyond the classroom.
The First-Year Experience Office also strives to support the faculty at Butler Community College with efforts such as reaching out to students who may miss class or may be in need of academic or personal support.
Lastly, for most students, the journey into and through college is rarely and endeavor one takes alone. The First-Year Experience Office values the importance parents and families play with their involvement in the lives of our students. It is the commitment of FYE to provide information to parents and families about Butler and provide opportunities to help them feel part of the Butler community through communication and a Parent and Family Weekend.
Enrolling as a college student is a significant transition in anyone's life. We are here to support you. The FYE office is located in the Student Life Office in the 1000 building (also known as the Student Union) on the Butler of El Dorado campus. Feel free to call, email, or stop by and we would be happy to serve you!
