Programming Examples Held For Residence Hall Students

Resident Assistant Student Staff Position
The Resident Assistant (RA) position is a student staff position in the residence halls. The job entails being responsible for an area of residents, assisting with programming, enforcing hall policies, being on-duty, and serving as a resource person. The salary is your room and half meals. The selection process for the academic year is held the spring semester before the fall and you are required to attend an information meeting to get an application.

For the following breaks and students must leave during the break if they don’t need to be here for a school activity:
Room And Board Contract
The room and board contract is for a full academic year. Any student who is in attendance during the first semester of the academic year, and who will not be returning to college for the second semester, must cancel this contract in writing to the Director of Residence Life on or before December 1 st or the provisions thereof will be in effect for the spring semester. The following students can be released from their housing contract at the end of the fall semester: a) graduates; b) withdraws from the college; c)commutes from home living with parents within a 50 mile radius and need a notarized statement; d) married; e) transfers to another institution as a full-time student. The 50 mile radius is determined by using Mapquest.com. Your college address and your home address are used for the "to" and "from" addresses, in Mapquest.com.
Disability Housing Accommodation Procedure
Students requesting housing accommodations through Office of Special Needs must do so in addition to following all regular-housing procedures. Documentation must accompany housing application request and housing deposit fee. Deadline for housing accommodation requests is July 1st.
Submitting Housing Application
It is suggested Housing Applications for the fall be submitted in January with the $75.00 deposit and a copy of your immunization record, indicating that you have two MMR's (Measles, Mups and Rubella), current Tetanus and Meningitis shots. The application isn’t complete without the deposit and immunization record. If it is decided you aren’t going to live on-campus, you can get your deposit refunded by a written request.
Computer Labs
Computer Labs are located in West and East Halls. Students need to bring their own paper. Residents not living in the halls can be in the lab during visitation hours.
Resinet Committee
Student led committee that discusses residence hall internet issues. Interested students are welcome to attend a committee meeting or become a permanent committee member.
